West Shore Market is HIRING FULL & PART TIME MARKET STAFF
Overview
As a member of Market staff, you will be responsible for assisting customers, preparing and serving food and coffee, maintaining the cleanliness of our store, as well as following food safety regulations. We are a workplace that requires staff to be flexible, and be able to work in all departments of the store, including deli, coffee, and retail.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet and assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have.
• Prepare and serve deli products such as sandwiches, salads, and soups.
• Prepare and serve coffee beverages such as lattes, cappuccinos, and brewed coffee.
• Maintain the quality and freshness of deli products, rotating items and following food safety regulations.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils in both the deli and coffee bar areas.
• Follow our policies and procedures for food handling, preparation, and storage.
• Operate cash register and handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain a clean and organized deli and coffee bar department, including stocking shelves, displays, and coolers.
• Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of any shortages.
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors, including helping out in the coffee bar during peak times.
Qualifications
• Prior experience in a deli or food service environment preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to follow proper food handling techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a refrigerated environment.
